Thane

 

Smt. Mahalakshmi Padmanabhan

A State Bank of India employee for about two decades, Mahalakshmi has been the Swaranjali coordinator since its inception in Thane (20th March 2004).

She takes keen interest in the smooth conduction of Swaranjali Programmes of Thane. Under her supervision, the Thane Swaranjali has been participating in Mission bhajan Programmes, including MeeRadha, a grand musical. Recently (25th March 2007), the group had performed for the GSB Association at Matunga.

Mahalakshmi, besides being a singing member of the Swaranjali group, shows keen interest in Chinmaya Mission’s family Sadhana Camps too. She is fond of reading and listening to music. She has been trained in Carnatic music.
 
 

Shri Ram Dixit

Shri Ram Dixit – a very well accomplished Hindustani classical singer is a disciple of the great maestro Pt. Jasraj. Dixitji has been associated with the Swaranjali since its inception. He teaches the Swaranjali Junior (children) and Senior (adults) groups.

Under his guidance, Thane Swaranjali has performed many bhajan Programmes. One of the highlights of the Thane Swaranjali is “Mee Radha” – a 1½-hour ballet performed on the 11th of December 2005 at Gadkari Rangayatan. Dixitji did the entire music choreography for this event.

Dixitji, besides being a music teacher in a well-known school in Thane, has been associated with Times Music. He had composed music for many of their produced albums.

Pune

 

Sushant Sunil Bhide

Sushant Bhide has been involved with Chinmaya Mission since childhood. He has just completed Visharad in Tabla. He is presently studying Engineering in Pune.

Goa

 

Br. Kedar Chaitanya

Br. Kedar Chaitanya was associated with Chinmaya Mission from his childhood through Chinmaya Bala Vihars in Madgaon. After his graduation he completed his two-year Vedanta Training Course in the year 2000 from Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai. Since then, he has served Chinmaya Mission centres in Chandrapur, Maharashtra and Madgaon. Presently he is the Acharya-In-Charge of Chinmaya Mission Ponda, Goa. He conducts Shravan Sadhanas on Bhagawad Geeta, Vedanta Prakarna Granthas and Tulsi Ramayan in his center, apart from other mission activities.

Br. Kedarji has a flair for singing and teaching bhajans. His bhajans have a magical power of touching the hearts of his listeners and transporting them into the heights of devotion. He has an audio-cassette and an audio CD ‘Bhakti Vandana’ to his credit. He has been learning Hindustani classical music from Shri Gaurish Talvadkar of Borim, Ponda, Goa for last 1 year. Kedarji is a talented musician. He has learned the Tabla for 2½ years in his childhood. Pujya Guruji always prefers Kedarji to accompany him on tabla for his bhajans. Kedarji also plays the harmonium and mouth organ effortlessly.
 
 

 

Dr. Mrs. Anita Naik

Dr. Anita Naik has completed her Visharad in Hindustani classical music (Vocal) from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya. She has also appeared for the 1st exam of Alankar (post-graduation). She is presently studying under Pt. Ramarao Nayak of Madgaon, and has sung in many programmes in Goa.

Smt. Asha Bhartiya

Smt. Asha Bhartiya has learnt a bit of music during her college days. Though she does not have a deep knowledge of music, she is keenly interested in singing bhajans. She has been a volunteer at Chinmaya Mission for quite some time.
