Nitya Nandkishore

 

Born on 27 August 1990 Nitya started learning dance at the tender age of six. She has learnt under eminent Gurus Smt. Karunambal, Smt. Thankamani Kutty, and Smt. Rajeswari Natarajan. Nitya performed her Arangetram (formal ascending of stage as a full-fledged performer) in 2006 and has performed on several stages since the age of eight, namely:

• International Children’s Day: Solo
   classical Bharatnatyam dance
   (2007)

• Springdales School, Jaipur:
   Rajasthani folk dance for the
   opening ceremony (2006)

• India International Centre Gandhi Jayanti Divas (2004 & 2006)

• Indian Classical dance for the South African High Commissioner 
   (2004)

• FICCI Auditorium for Sadbhavana Divas on Patriotism (2003)

• Chinmaya Soul Song Night at Kala Mandir, Kolkata (2000)

• Chinmaya National Camp in Kolkata (1998).

• Sringeri Sharada Temple Navaratri festival, New Delhi (2002-
   2006.)

• Springdales School Annual day, New Delhi (2003-2006)

Nitya is passionate about dancing and has performed for a delegation of international students from China in 2004 and 2007. She has also participated in an Indian classical dance workshop organised for students from Cambridge University, England. Her talent, sincerity and dedication have won her several awards. A few of these are listed below,

As a student of Bharatnatyam she feels privileged to be a part of this glorious tradition and would like to contribute to this glorious art form with sincerity and dedication.
