Divya Dikshit

Divya Dikshit is a young and upcoming Kathak dancer creating a niche for her self in the realm of Indian Classical Dance. She has been learning Kathak under the able guidance of renowned Kathak and Odissi exponent, Guru Yogini Gandhi
(www.yoginigandhi.com) at the Kalanidhi Institute for the past 14 years.

Having a good command over both the rhythmic (nritta) and emotive (nritya) aspects, Divya's dance reflects the dignity found in her Guru’s style. One of the lead dancers of the Kalanidhi troupe, she has performed at numerous concerts and lecture demonstrations presented by her Guru at Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Banglore, Satara and Aurangabad.

To enhance her overall knowledge of Indian Classical Dance and Music, Divya has participated and received the blessings of legendary maestros - Pandit Birju Maharaj, Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Smt Kanak Rele, Smt Uma Dogra and Pandit Rajendra Gangani, through their workshops and seminars.

Divya is a recipient of the prestigious title – “Shringar-Mani” conferred by the Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai. She has also participated and won many state as well as national competitions such as – Dahad Vidya Vardhini, Swar Sadhana Samiti , Mumbai and All India Multi-lingual Dance, Drama and Music Contest organised by Akhil Bhartiya Sanskritik Sangh Pune.

Divya has been an assistant teacher at the Kalanidhi dance institute run by Guru Yogini Gandhi. Besides dance, Divya has also excelled in academics. She is a double Post Graduate in Economics and Finance. She has been a visiting lecturer of the management discipline at various national institutes like - College of Military Engineering, International Business School and DINA Institute since the past four years.
