“Swaranjali”
August 2, 2009 at Savitribai Phule Kalamandir, Dombivali
It is indeed a rare sight to see a packed hall in Mumbai on a Sunday morning for a Hindistani classical music concert. But that was the case on 2nd August when Hindustani classical vocalist Shri Rahul Deshpande performed at the Savitribai Phule Kalamandir in Dombivali.
With the blessings of our Pujya Gurudev and in the presence of Acharya Varshaji and Acharya Vivekji of the Thane and Mulund centres respectively the ambience was perfectly set for a most melodious experience.
Rahulji's meliflous rendering with all the alaaps and variations resonated in the hall and captivated the music lovers present. Some of the highlights of his performance were the Kabir Bhajans, Marathi Natya Sangeeth and Abhangs. In the second half of the programme there were many requests from the audience for his popular Marathi songs which Rahulji kindly obliged .
It was a very well organised event and a soulful experience for all those present. The music lovers who attended this programme were across all ages and hoped that many more such events are organised by the Mission.
